- Can I use the PoE NVR and Cameras without an internet connection
- Yes, the system will function perfectly as a closed-circuit setup without the internet. You can view live footage directly on the built-in 15.6-inch LCD screen, and all recordings will continue to save to the hard drive. However, you will lose remote access (viewing via smartphone app from outside the home) and any cloud backup features if the internet is disconnected
- Why is my camera powered on (lights are on) but showing "No Image" or "Disconnected" on the screen
- This usually indicates an IP address conflict. PoE NVRs typically assign cameras to a specific internal IP range (e.g., 192.168.138.x). If a camera has a different IP segment (e.g., 192.168.4.x), it will receive power but won't stream video. Quick Fix: Disconnect the NVR from your router (to isolate the network), go to the IPC/Channel settings menu, search for the camera, and select "Reset." The NVR will re-assign the correct IP address to the camera
- What is the maximum cable length for the cameras? Can I extend it
- The standard maximum distance for a single Ethernet cable run is 100 meters (approximately 328 feet) using Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Beyond this distance, the power signal degrades, and the camera may fail to turn on or lose video quality. If you need to go farther than 100m, you must install a PoE Extender or a PoE Switch in between
- How much hard drive space do I need? Why is my system beeping
- Storage: For a 4-camera system recording 24/7 in high definition, a 2TB to 4TB surveillance-grade hard drive is standard. For 8 cameras, 4TB to 8TB is recommended to retain footage for more than a week,A continuous beep from the NVR unit usually means one of three things: 1) The hard drive is not detected or has failed, 2) There is no hard drive installed, or 3) There is a network disconnection. Check the "Disk Management" or "Event Log" menu to identify the specific error stopping the recording
